I have a 2003 pace car edition SS and after I turn the key off the radio will stay on after I open the door. I have to turn the key to ACC and back to get the radio off. does not happen all the time but when it does the next morning the battery is completely drained. Something is drawing power with the key off. But it only does it when the radio wont shut off???? Can someone plese HELP!!!!!

you say it ONLY happens when you open the door?

What about your dome light? Does it come on when you open the door also?

 

The car is designed to shut off all power off once the doors are open. I am sure you know this. but when I open my door the radio stays on and only when that happens the next morning the battery is completely dead. And no the dome light is not coming on when I opened the door yea I had to check lol ....

 

I wonder if he BCM has anything to do with it.

 

The car HAS to know when a door was opened, so is there any switches in the door that trigger this? Could be a problem there.

 

Here is something else you can try.

See if the dome light turns on with the pass side door open. If it does, then you have a switch problem. And i THINK its inside the door. Since i dont have a 6th Gen , i cant open my door and see. Then again, it might be the same. I'm not sure.

But start with the logical. Check the pass door and go from there. It could just be your door switch thats rusted closed.
