Welp people, Tuffy Auto here in town had my car for 3 days straight and still cannot figure out why my car surges and them shuts off...this is a mysterious headache..but I may have to take it to the Dealer SMH..they are gonna tax me hard, I'm just a college student..

But anyway, this issue is so weird because there is no Check Engine/Idiot light on, so they can't pinpoint exactly what's wrong, I guess. *sigh*

But wouldn't that throw a code? Nothing is throwing a code on my car so far

You'd be surprised how many times it doesn't throw a code.

Damn, you're right cause guess what, it was my TPS Sensor and it NEVER threw a code. I changed it this morning and all the surging and engine stalling is no more. The car idles so quietly now, I get afraid it's cutting off on me again. A 'good issue to have, huh?

Thanks, everyone!

I had the same issue on my 2002 3800, which brought me to this thread. In my case, it was the fuel pressure regulator. When I unplugged the vacuum line, fuel spilled out of it. So the engine was running rich the whole time. Thanks for shedding some light on this.
