What is going on with my car?
I have a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo and as I was driving the check engine light came on, the car stopped accelerating, but the RPM's continued to go up. I switched to every gear and nothing worked. I turned the car off and back on and it goes for about a mile and does the same thing again. HELP!!!!
Check and clean the MAF sensor, TPS throttle position sensor, IAC idle air control.. and see if that doesnt resolve your issue....
If not then quite possibly...Your transmission is failing...
I would also consider a fluid and filter change if checking and cleaning those sensors dont help....
How many miles on it? That also makes a diference...
