Default Car randomly Dies

I am having an issue with my 01 monte SS randomly dieing while go down the highway. I have a scan tool and there are no codes in the computer. I also noticed while driving at night my dash light will dim way down for a few seconds and then come back bright again. After it dies you can usually throw it in neutral and start it back up again.

Last night it died while coming home from work. I threw it in neutral but it wouldn't restart. I finally let the car coast to a stop. I turned the key off and removed it, put it back in and it started back up again with no problems. I drove the rest of the way home with no problems. Suggestions?

i've heard of issues like this and it was a part called a body control module, which is a dealer item only

now that might not be the problem, wait to see what a few other people say, i've just seen this cause the exact same issues on a lot of other chevy cars

I was leaning toward the BCM, but any opinions on it are sure welcomed.

Ah yes. I remember the nightmares of those exact issues. It would die at any random point and start right back up. Wouldn't matter if I was accelerating to highway speeds, or coasting to a stop - it would die without warning. I had the crankshaft position sensor replaced in the beginning of November 09 and it hasn't died since then.

No, the headlights do not dim when the dash lights do.
