5th Gen ('95-'99): Can't accelerate past 3100rpm
I got a 97 monte carlo LS no codes. won't go over 3100 rpms. only stored code is p0101, I replaced the maf and it now picks up acceleration fast at 2500rpms and feels like a rocket but still stops at 3100rpms. Ran cleaner through the gas system and no change. flooring it stops at 2-2.5k. I have a scanner and shows no problems besides short term fuel trim pulling a lot of fuel but looks random and not all the time.
No actual driveability issues and daily drives fine, Computer shows no misfire and its a hard limit with no miss firing. Same in park as it is in every gear and will shift before 3000rpm fine if not throttling to hard but won't shift without letting off if giving too much gas. Computer doesn't show any more issues when at hard limit but motor shakes mounts pretty hard. And yes if I floor it I only get 2k-2.5k and it fluctuates a little bit each time
Only has 1 other issue and that is that it starts in every gear and I think they might be related as I put a new p/n safety switch in and it still starts in every gear. Also with key in accessory the floor shifter is unlocked without having to bush the break in but in run/on you do have to push the break like it should be. So not sure if that is related either.
