Brake Squeak
Alright, i got a 97 Monte LS. I got a brake issue, well moreless an irritation than a issue i guess. So my rear drum brakes squeak whenever i let off my brakes. I brought it into a shop cuz i read in the manual that if your brakes squeak, that means the pads need to be replaced, etc. (at the time i thought it was the front brakes). Turns out the drums were squeaking, and he cleaned out the brake lines and it stopped... for a couple days. Ever since then its been doing more often but mostly whenever its a hot or mild day (60 degrees+) I was wondering how i could clean them so they can stop squeaking. Again its more embarrasing than anything to have people look at you for that lol.
well with with my 98 neon it was common for it to happen...it was somthing with the metal and the pads.... did your mechanic rough up either one?? if not take some sand paper (good rough grit...)
or a dremel with a sand paper round thing..dono what to call it... and run it over the pads and around the drums... worked good for me
