weaker engine sure, but i'm a proud owner of an LS myself and i love the car. sure its not an SS or supercharged but they're neat cars. now if you want better acceleration the cheapest and easiest way to do it is throwing a cold air intake on or a fenderwell intake on your monte. from there you can do exhaust(maniflods, downpipe, u-bend delete, dual exhaust and some nice shiny tips), pcm, etc. but what u really wanna ask yourself is this; are you going to hang onto this car for a while? if you are i would just drop a 3.8 or the supercharged engine in, its going to be at most $3000 but if it means that much to u do it. unfortunatlly there isn't much we can do for our engines, right now we don't even have a supercharger or a turbo that our trannies could handle. well i hope this was helpful
