Default Ball joint or tie rod end?

Over the past few weeks, when I reach about 55mph my 2001 LS makes a squeaking noise form the front drivers side wheel. It's not a constant squeak though. Yesterday I changed my oil and decided to check the wheel. There's a decent amount of play up and down, and back and forth and it makes the same squeaking noise. I've replaced that hub assembly within the past 2 years. I know it's not that.. Would that be a ball joint or tie rod end?

Thanks in advance!

When you say up and down and back and forth..you mean the tire moves in both directions...

It definitely sounds like the hub bearing is gone/worn out.

Before you throw a bunch of parts at it...
I would take it to a shop first to confirm just whats going on.

Ball joints and tierod ends generally don't squeak at highway speeds.
Youd get more of a shimmy in the front end due to miss alignment and severe pulling.

Welcome to the forum.
Were here to help.

Thanks!

Wouldn't it make a constant howling noise? I've had a few cars with bad hub bearings and they all made the same noise and it was constant. But, like you said, there is no alignment issues whatsoever.

Not necessarily... It maybe that there isn't anything left for it to squeal like a dry bearing or a failing race... It mayhave just blown apart and is now riding off of the axle spline etc...

IMO:
I wouldn't drive it any further and get it fixed asap... You really don't want to cause any other issues with other parts and or have it separate completely and possibly injur someone else running down the road from flying parts/wheel assy.

The only thing that maybe aiding in the minimal noise maybe the tires rotation/balance to keep it rotating in a somewhat normal position.
