Bad hesitation at low RPM when cold
I have a 2001 SS with 3800. Before the engine warms up, the motor stumbles when trying to take off. When it reaches about 3000 rpm it is like somebody turned on a switch and it comes to life. Runs real smooth. I know somebody is going to tell me that it is the plugs and wires. I would buy that if it were missing at all rpm's whether hot or cold. It acts like a sensor is telling the comp that the engine is warm all the time. My thermostat has been replaced and the engine temp sensor is showing what appears to be an acurate reading. I also replaced the MAP sensor since I accidentally broke it when checking it. I tried cleaning the MAF sensor but may not have got it clean enough.I thought carb cleaner would be good enough. I thought about the TPS but doesn't make sense because the problem goes away when the motor warms up. Any ideas, anybody?

RE: Bad hesitation at low RPM when cold
my car has that same problem, but now its doing it all the time nonstop, i belive its the MAF sensor cos if i go out there and tap on it or unhook it and rehook it then it'll work properly for a while then go back to acting stuipd. thats just my 2 cents tho i could be wrong[:'(]

try the iat sensor it may be malfuntioning like you said could be thinking the car is getting hotter air than it should or you could be having an o2 sensor problem
