Default Sun Roof Lubrication?

Hey have any of you guys ever needed to lubricate your sun roofs? I just noticed that when I open mine it shudders like it is binding up. Do I just need to grease the railings or is there somewhere else that needs to get lubed as well?

yeh def! Actually since it starts getting really warm out when it hits about halfway mine started to stutter. GREASE it up. It wont hurt anything. I greased mine up and it slides great like BRAND NEW!! Go to your local car parts store tell em that you need grease to grease the sunroof and they hook ya up!

It is just the rails though right, I dont have to take anything apart to lube up correct. It looks like there was just regular chassis grease on there before. Ill give it a shot, and hope that it does the job.

Space posted a great link to an article on sun roof care. Maybe he'll repost it.

It's just standard grease, nothing special. If it binds up for awhile, just keep hitting the button and push back with your hand. Then completely close and repeat a few times. That clears up my problems when I pull the battery or PCM. It seems to need to relearn where the stops are.
