i wish there was a way to tell anyone who was a monte carlo enthusiast to not purchase a used 2006 SS with 61,000 miles near chicagoland ...

oh wait ... i just did ... and damnit mel, your car is not even broken in yet ... so of course youre not going to have any problems ...

these reasons, and chevy's unwillingness to fix any of them is why my car is gone ... a motor or trans should not need a rebuild before 100k ...

and the topper of all my dealings with the car and different service departments ... one of them told me it was burning oil because it was driven too hard ...

so i walked to the car and pointed to the SS on the passenger door ... and said "so whats this on here for then?"

best of luck guys ... IMHO ... ditch the thing before it fails completely if you start having problems

hahaha read the dealers description of my car ... HAHAHAA

" This 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo SS is all that and everythng in between; Super Sporty, Super Fast and Super Fun!! Sit in it - luxurious black leather upholstery is oh so comfortable. Now, turn the key - you'll hear it - the roar of the V8 5.3 ltr. engine. And, the everything in between: Power Driver's Seat, Heated Seats, REMOTE START, Universal Garage Door Opener, OnStar, XM Satellite Radio, Mjulti-Function Steering Wheel, Power Sunroof, Alloy Wheels, Rear Spoiler, and AM/FM Stereo w/CD Player. Super clean non smoker vehicle with a clean Auto Check History Report. One of those rare finds, this 2006 Monte Carlo SS is sure to be gone, gone, gone....contact Wickstrom Chevrolet at (630) 529-7070 or Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet | Roselle Chevrolet | Schaumburg Chevrolet | Bensenville Chevrolet | Wheaton Chevrolet. Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet It's were we always sell for less! Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet Family Owned and Operated for over 46 Years! Great people to do business with! Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet It's where we always sell for less! "

it doesnt have onstar, or xm ... because both of the modules were ripped out by me and never put back in ... my brother smoked ... a "rare find"

"clean auto check" hahaha ... it was never in an accident ... but how can you say that when the owner you bought it from, had it in your very dealership for unresolved and resolved service work ...

can you guys tell i miss her ...

So, I need to disable the DOD and I will be ok? I only have a little over 3,600 on her now. Mine is an 07 though, do they have the same problem?

Sorry the Car's gone and the trouble but your right no car should have engine and tranny problems at 61k. And how come I get picked on for only having 3k miles lol. Did you still have warranty left on the car?

no no, the monte had 61k on her ... my new car has significantly more than that ... but was also only 4000 dollars ... runs like a freaking champ ... already but about 4-500 miles on her in two weeks and not had a single problem and so far, much better mileage than the monte ... sure its not as fast and needs a good paint job ... but im happy and thats all that matters right ???

im sure anyone from indiana will recognize where she came from ... lol ...

my plans for her ... 1 gallon of john deere blitz black, ( ordered ) 35 % tint on the windows ( appointment on wednesday ) ... tail lights are almost done right now, just wetsanding the clear, and welding up some glass packs in the future ...
