Could be something in the air conditioner fan?

it sounds kinda like its in the engine bay but then again it doesnt, doestn happen till it hits about 700-900 RPM's, and the air/heat isnt on, no radio, windows up, ...if the radio is on or you take er up to around 1000-1200 rpms you cant hear it

To me, it sounds like you must have your fan speed selector on the lowest running position.. I get a ticking sound when it is on the lowest speed.

If the ticking goes away if you add a few hundred RPM.s ... it's the Fuel Injection Pressure Relief Valve cycling Fuel back to the Gas Tank. The noise sounds like its coming from behind the radio ... like at One O'Clock or so ... behind the radio. Usually never an issue unless the car is really low on fuel.

The ticking noise you are hearing is created by the evap system purge valve which is mounted on the intake manifold near the throttle body. There is nothing wrong with the purge valve,it is normal for it to make the ticking noise. What happens is the normal ticking noise of the purge valve travels through the metal heater pipes that are attached to the throttle body mounting studs into the heater core which is located behind the passenger side of the dash.Yes,there is a bulletin for this noise. There is an updated heater pipe assembly with rubber insulators where it mounts to the throttle body studs. I have installed a few of the updated heater pipes and it does eliminate the ticking noise. The noise is not a durability issue, just annoying.
