Alternator Assistance Replacement Choice
Hello, I'm trying to replace my Alternator on my 02 Monte Carlo SS. So real simple fix right it takes what 10 minutes at most, but I'm now faced with a conundrum. There are two variates to choose from. We got a choice between 105 amps or 125 amps. They only had one of them at the store I went to which is the 105 amps. I asked that the order the 125 amps just in case. My pulley is what is going out on the thing keeps squeaking and causing resistance on the serpentine belt system. Which one should I choose the guy at the store came out with me to look at the alternator he says there should be a sticker on it somewhere but we weren't able to find one. I have a sneaking feeling it's not on there as I've pulled it off the alt before. Is there an easy way to know exactly which one I need to use does it matter much if I use the 105 amp rather than the 125 amp alternator? As always your assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks

I believe 105 amp is stock..
However,
I am running the heavier duty 125 amp since I am also running a 4000 Watt sound system..
I doubt..the pully is the issue though..It sounds more to me like a bearing in the alternator is failing along with possibly the diode...since the bad bearing is causing resistance as well as heat.
