Default Need Help!! Alternator Replacement for 97 z34!

Hey everyone, first time poster. Just wondering how you guys accomplish a z34 alternator replacement. My haines manual doesn't really go into enough detail, thanks a lot!

Well i happen to have a 97 ls im pretty sure they are in the same place and i have actully just replaced mine.. they are a little hard to do but not as hard as it hits the wallet... there should be about three bolts one on the front left and the others on the right hand side and a connector but before you tackle these bolts you need to remove the serpentine belt all you must do is simply move the auto adjuster back and the belt slips off now once you remove the bolts the alt should simply come out a thing i found out when you reinstall it there is hardly any room so i found it easier to put the bottom right hand bolt in first then do the top and the connector and then the easy one on the left slip the belt on tighten it down start it up and bam if your volt light was on hopefully it should be off now i hope this helped if it didnt i will go into more detail if needed Thanks for posting And have fun with the Z34

Good luck my g/f's old's had a 3.4dohc in it like that and you had to pull the wheel and the axel and go in from where the axel was. it sucked. i never did it on a monte but i think it would be the same...but i hope it turns out to be easier for ya, good luck again

Milford--
I'm not sure if the '97's had the 3.4 DOCH or the 3.8...if it's the 3.8 I can help you...otherwise just make sure your battery is disconnected! )

It is the 3.4l DOHC, the manual has me doing quite a bit like removing the exhaust lowering the engine etc. I have heard somewhere of someone removing right wheel and axle assembly and pulling it out through there black monte. I am going to attempt that route first because it seems to be the easiest. Thanks for the help guys and im sure i'll have more questions when I start!

The cv axle is out, the alternator is free of connections and mounts but I can't seem to manuever it out. I have the tie rod end popped out but it looks like i'll have to remove the tie rod itself and my haynes manual doesn't say how to do that. help!
