I have just recently replaced my alternator. I got a 125 amp alternator from a monte carlo (or at least a 3800 engine) from a junkyard for only 45 bucks, it runs great and it was bigger than the stock alternator that was only 105 amps. I didn't take it out of the car but I just called the junkyard and they got it for me.

Mine is a 135 amp version, but I don't know if it would fit on the V6.

Honestly save up and get a good one. I got one from DC Power its a 250AMP. Its cost a bit more than a stock one but it is well worth it. I am so glad I upgraded.
