All Gauge Malfunction

All Gauge Malfunction
So the other day I noticed my Temp gauge reading hot but no warning came on when it should have. WHen I turned off the car the gauge did not return to zero, but to a zero relative to what it was reading. Now my gas gauge and oil gauge does this as well. The only way to reset them is to turn the key from Acc to the off position about 30 times at once, making them jump slowly back to zero. They still read and move correctly when the car is running, its just that they don't relate to the gauge markings. ex the temp needle is now upside down. Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas about what it could be?

RE: All Gauge Malfunction
I have the same issue too but with the tach and gas gauge.
I'm able to bring them back to zero (relative) and will work properly for a long time. They seem to run fine when all cold. However, when running the heat in the car, it takes about 30 minutes or so and then they start acting up too.

Call local junkyard to find a good gauge cluster for cheap.Thats almost got to be your problem if nothing else is wrong. The only other thing would be the computer... and lots of other stuff would screw up if that was your problem.

there's a motor inside the gauge cluster that is burn out and need to replace. my speedometer done the same thing like that too. i had to turn the ignition on/off about 10-12 times to get it back to zero too when it crap on me. email this guy he fixed mine. his price is very reasonable cheaper than any where else!

RE: All Gauge Malfunction
Gauge cluster problems. My gas gauge did full 360's before I got it replaced under warranty. Not sure of the cost on a new one. YOU cannot buy a new cluster, but they can order one and replace it for you. There are laws against replacing speedometers and changing the mileage. A dealer is SUPPOSED to change them. They download the odometer reading onto their computer, and then upload the same reading into the new cluster. FIY.
