Hey, I've got an '01 Monte SS, and if I unlock the door using the key and open the door, the alarm goes off. The only way to stop it is to use the remote. It's not necessarily a big deal as long as my remote works, but is there any way to fix this? I know it's not normal.

 

How do you lock the door? If you use the remote to lock, use the remote to unlock. I'm pretty sure you can get away with using the inside lock and remote to unlock.

 

I tried that, but it still goes off if I open the trunk. I think it may be aftermarket, because the doors make the high pitched alarm, but the truck just makes the car honk.

 

Could be after market, but the trunk will go off like that as well unless you use the FOB to unlock first.

 

i can open mine with teh key or the fob and no alarms will sound.

but if i have the windows down and lock the doors. and reach threw it and unlock it then open the door it gose nuts.
if i lick it with the key and open it with the fob it is all good. and vise versa.

So you have a issue with the programming in that part of the computer tellign it when the go off and when not to
