Default Air noise from rear window

Hi all kinda new to the MC forum and am very impressed with what I have read. I have searched forum posts for this problem with no luck. I bought my wife a 06 MC LS off of a dealer with EBAY. The car had 7K miles on it and picked it up for $12,900. in Nov. 07. ( Great deal in my opinion). fast forward to 8-25-08 ,Me and my wife were taking my son to drop him off at college(Western Mich. U.) I was sittng in the rear seat and was hearing this air noise from the rear window @ 80 MPH on I-94 . I had mentioned to my son about the noise which he had heard also. fast forward to tonite I thought I would wash the wifes car and thought about the noise so as i Washed the car i turned it on and turned the blower on high and as I washed around the rear window at the 2 channels that run the length of the hood were they meet the rear window, soapy water was applied, bubbles galore on both sides. This cant be normal, where air gets out ,water can get in,right? Anyone else have or notice this problem?
Thanks in advance, Ron

It's not normal. But, what to about it is the question. I guess you'll have to bring it to an Auto Glass Co. and have them apply a sealant or reseal the window.
I don't expect it should cost too much to have that done.

call a glass shop and ask them to reseal it. if you do not have any warrenty on the car. some times the used ones will threw your dealer.

Also did you do a car fax on it? it might not help completly but the rear window could have been knocked out of it. If this is the case when they reinstalled a new one they might not have gotten enough sealer on it.

If this is the case i would start looking for water damage under the carpet in t he trunk etc...

But for the price i dont think ya did bad at all.

Ron, if you're in the Jackson, MI area Able Glass on Michigan Ave is a great place to get work like that done. I had a seal go bad on my '99 Monte Carlo Z34 on the back window and they resealed it for $5 and the cost of the seal. So it was like $25-$30.

What a small world rysZ34. I was born and raised in Jackson / Hanover. My buddy from school owns Able. I need to go see him, I have wind noise from my windshield at highway speeds. No leaks yet, knock on wood.
