Hi All,
New to the forum and I think a new problem.
My 96 Monte has a blower issue.
The blower is working fine in heat and cold selection however there is no air coming out.
It's as if the doors are closed.
In the old days you could pull a leaver and the air would move again.
I tried replacing the whole control module but no difference.
If I could manually open the gates I would be happy.
Any info much apprciated

There is probably a vacuum leak somewhere. There is a vacuum canister in the front of the driver side wheel well behind the splash liner. The lines leading to that commonly go bad. I would start there. The easiest way to get to it would be to unbolt the liner from the bumper cover. Its easy justuse an 8mm socket to remove the bolts.You can also get tothe canisterfrom up top, but its alot easier to go from the bottom. Check the connections and all the vacuum lines themselfs for cracks/breaks.

 

I remember Chris (scc24540) went through the exact same problem on his 5th gen Monte. If memory serves me correctly, that was where his problem was too. I think he said a hose had cracked in a spot that wasn't visible until he took the hose out. Hopefully you won't have to go that far to find the problem.
