Air bag help?!
I am getting "DTC B0041 LF/Driver Side Deployment Loop Open" Has anyone had this before? I know the dealership could probably fix it, but they want $130 just to look at the car. I looked under my drivers seat and unplugged and plugged back in the air bag connector. Could this be my BCM?
try this ...might work or might not but worth the try, unplug the battery
open driver's side fuse panel behind the dash
there you will see a yellow plug (driver side bag sensor) with orange strap on it.
unhook the orange strap and unplug the yellow connector for few minutes
plug everything back in and the battery too and see if that do any thing.

I will try it. I will try anything at this point to not bring it to the dealer. I tried the one under the drivers seat. I even bought a code scanner. The nice thing about it is it reads not only OBDII stuff but also ABS, Trans and Air bag stuff too.
The weird thing about this whole deal is that it happened when I installed some generic ballasts. I heard a loud almost buzz from the front of the car. Now for some reason (and I don't know if this is related) when my DRLs are on and I select the A/C button to turn it on or I want to recirculate the air or take it from outside buttons they will not light up. The only time they light up is when I have the headlights or parking lights on. Plus the fact that the Air bag light keeps coming on and off.

left front would be the airbag on your steering wheel. the sensor silverbullet is talking about shouldn't have anything to do with it as its saying there isnt a complete circuit through your steering wheel airbag. there may be a cut in the wire or your clockspring may have broke or became disconnected in the steering columb
Might be wrong but from what I have researched, the B0041 is the side impact air bag. The connector for that on is under the seat. I am gonna try Silvers suggestion before I start tearing apart everything. If I cant trace it back to the side impact air bag, then I am gonna try the SDM or BCM. I don't wanna get that far yet though considers either one of those is probably going to be about $300 each.
ok, i see that now, the steering wheel airbag willl say drivers frontal.. you can disconnect it and check the resistance of it via the plug going to the side impact airbag. make sure you dont put voltage through it at a 9v battery will set it off (i know from having fun with an old one) and if it reads "OL" you dont have a complete circut through it. if you get a resistance reading. your good. you can try the connector for your side impact sensor that should be located in the A piller.
