Exclamation 2000 Air bag help

I have read many posts while searching about airbag removal. Virtually ALL say how easy it is...I must be STUPID..
All safety precautions followed!! Now the 2000 does not have the long slots with 4 spring clips like earlier models, those i have tried at junk yards and they are easy. The 2000 wheels have 3 oblong holes in rear. 1 on right side, one left side, and 1 middle bottom. Each oblong hole has a torx screw and and small hole, slightly larger than a pencil eraser, centered in the hole is the spring that is supposed to be easily moved to release the airbag. I inserted several different sized screw driver blades and pried right, pried left, pushed, pulled and cursed many times...I was able to free NONE of the three..
I thought, I'll go the junk yard and practice(my local JY has 3 2000 ss's) NO DICE.. I could not get ANY of them to release!!!!
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG
Please Help me...

Issue resolved...for anyone who cares. The metal wire that runs through the center of the 3 holes(some call it a spring clip) must ALL be pried in the same direction, towards the drivers door using a medium blad flat screw driver .
This is different from the earlier model years that use 4 holes(2 on the drivers side of the wheel and 2 on the passenger side of the wheel) which pry outward respectively. The 2 on the drivers side pry toward the drivers door, the 2 on the passenger side of the wheel pry toward the passenger side of the car.
I hope this helps someone...
