98cruise control and power door locks malfuntion

Default 98cruise control and power door locks malfuntion

Okay so thanks for any help in advance.
So my 98 3.1 monte has cruise control but the darn thing doesnt work I dont know what to trouble shoot, i havent look at in a while but i dont think the fuze was blown. What could it be? i have the hanes manual but it wasnt of any help.

Second problem my door locks dont work i replaced the driver side switch cuz the original one didnt and i thought that was the problem but still nothing click. And btw the ODB II scanner port on my monte doesnt work properly so i feel helpless it cant seem to communicate with the snap-on scanner tool help me please

you should definately check those fuses first for the cruise and confirm they're OK. as far as the power locks, do they work from the passenger side? or are both sides ka-poot. once again, fuses....

okay will look the fuzes over and neither driver or passanger side pwl work

all fuses are fine what should i look at next

did your cruise control/ power lock trouble start at the same time? about the same time you replaced that switch? if so, you may have ground trouble. believe it or not, one bad ground in one place can affect several electrical components. I had an S-10 that didn't have the headlight plug all the way attached and as a result I had BOTH headlights go extremely dim/ high beam indicator wouldn't work properly/ emergency lights went highwire/ ect. once I secured that plug everything was A-OK.

okay i'll try looking for a ground wire and look over as much as possible
