Hi,

I just bought a red '97 Monte Carlo Z34 with 77K miles. It was a dealer trade-in, local one-owner. Someone obviously loved this car as its in immaculate condition. Not one ding and no rust to be found, even the undercarriage is clean. The paint is like new. Interior shows very little wear. Its not my daily driver, just bought it because it was so clean couldn't pass it up for the $.

The only thing I have a problem with is the remote door lock. It doesn't beep the horn when I press the lock button and the interior lights don't go on when I unlock it. I have to be standing at the car and listen for the door locks to be sure it locked.

Was the beep/lights an option on these? Is there a way to turn off/on this feature? If so how?

 

I don't think 5th gens have the beep option. I know my car didn't have it. I have a friend with a Z34 and I don't think his beeps either.
