Well, I probably look stupid asking this cause its probably common knowledge with the 6th gen, but heres the story&qustion.

I was driving down the highway today from dropping my wife off at work and I see a state trooper sitting at the turnaround clocking everyone, and I see this little car flying down the highway(for sure speeding).
So, I "flicker" the lights (pulled the switch out/in three times) only half way out. And the third time I hear this "beep".
So, when I got home, I tried it some more. Everytime I pull it out half way and push it back in all the way three times it does this beep. What is that for?? Has to be somthing for the foglights right? Cause I was in and out of my car checking if it turns off the DRL's, and I even covered up the sensor on the dash that turns on the lights when its dark (to see if it turns on the DRL's instead of the night lights. I dont know what this is for so could someone help me out here?? Thanks

 

i think you may be hearing things. but some cars do have options that work like that.

like when you reset your oil, by pressing the gas 3 times.

on my moms jeep she used to have a beep reminder for here seatbelt and in her manual it told here something like cliping the belt 3 times to disable it.

so that might disable your drls or something. i would look in your owners manual.

 

As many times as I have done that on my '05, I've never heard a beep. What options do you have on the car?

It resets the little information thing on the dash.
Like if you have a low tire, just in and out 3 times, the chime is the thing reseting.

 

I am by no means hearing anything, Ill upload a vid to youtube and link it here if you dont belive me. Everything to reset anything is done through the radio and it has the same beep. Let me know if you want me to get a vid of it.

 

No its for low tire, it beeps for that. Dont believe me if you dont want to.

 

Im not saying I dont belive you, but then why would the reset for the tire pressure be through the radio? I let out 18psi from one of the tires and let the light come on and tryied to reset it with that and it didnt work. I jsut made a vid of it and I am trying to upload it right now.

EDIT: im uploading the vid now, but it says its gonna take like 533min, so Ill have it up in the morning and youll see what im talking about.

 

Ok Im not sure mabye our radios are different.

 

So your radio doesnt reset the tire pressure or nothing? What year do you have? Thats really wierd, I thought the radio reset everything like oil and such.
