Default 95k Miles time for some flush's--Should I do the tranny

2007 Monte Carlo SS 95k miles.

Flushs that are being done sat
dexcool,power steering

I just want to know at this mileage what else I should have done on the car for flushs.

Should I have the tranny flush done with new filter now or wait till 150k

Depends on the maintenance history of the car if you know it. If the transmission has been actually flushed before, then i'd say its safe to do it. If it hasn't been flushed or you don't know the history, its safer to just drop the pan and change the filter, and replace whatever fluid is lost. With higher mileage transmissions in these cars its generally recommended you don't flush them unless they've been flushed throughout their life.

Carfax of the car only shows that they had the car serviced every 3k miles doesnt show what they did. So better to just drop the pan and add more fluid. I have heard doing a flush is not always a good idea but I want to get all of the small things replaced before its to late and the damage is done. Car is very clean A- condition inside and out to my knowlege the person who owned it works on cars for a living but he had it serviced by gm weird huh lol

Is it safe on a 95k miles tranny to do just a filter replace and new fluid no flush?

If it were my car, I always pan drop/filter change no later then 100k. I have no interest on a trans flush.

DO NOT FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION!!! Just replace the filter and top off the fluid wasted in that process, 95k is too damn high for a flush, you'll be asking for a premature transmission failure if you do that.

If you had to make a guess what would this run me at a shop just to drop it and change the filter top off fluid? I dont have a area to do this myself.

Around $79-120 labor and materials used. depends most on hourly labor rate shop charges and type of tans fluid used (regular house brand fluid around the $80 mark, Mobil 1 synthetic like me aim high towards the 120-150 mark cause fluid alone is usually $80-$90 after taxes)

My experience tells me that a transmission flush is a recipe for failure. I've seen it more times than I can remember. If it is a high mileage car it is always better to simply replace fluids and filters than it is to flush anything. This goes for the engine cooling system, power steering, transmission, brakes, engine oil, etc. If you have even a small amount of experience, and a place to work, the labor involved in changing out the trans filter and fluid is minimal.

It is messy. Don't kid yourself.

When it comes to the power steering, buy a turkey baster and suck out as much of the fluid in the reservoir as possible. Put fresh in and start the car up for a few seconds. Shut it down and repeat the process a few times until the fluid looks cleaner. DO NOT put additives in the fluid like that red honey stuff Lucas makes. If its' not leaking leave it alone. The same goes for the transmission.
I hope this helps you.

I would definitely change the fluid at that mileage, but wouldn't flush it. I would just drop the pan, and change the filter/ whatever fluid comes out with the pan drop which is about 7.5 QT out of 13 in these cars.
