6th Gen Driver's Airbag interchangability
So unknown to me until I pulled a new one at the junk yard today, but the cars that have seat airbags have different plugs on the steering wheel airbag. Non-seat air bag cars have a single yellow connector, cars with seat air bags have two connectors, one pink one grey.
Is there a way to make this airbag work in my car that only has the single plug?

I never knew of different number of connectors for the air bag, and I am only making a guess, but I bet it is related to the year of the car. Reason I say that, it would seem a bit odd for GM to make two different air bags for the same year car.
Personally, this is a safety item, I would not risk trying to rig something. I would do it right. Other wise, if it deploys and it shouldn't, it could cause a problem. Or if it doesn't deploy when it should you could end up regretting it.

Unfortunately, I am still not sure any of us would have those answers. When swapping modules around, not sure if these are simple plug and play items. I still go back to my original statement, I would get what is correct for the car.

Just wanted to update my solution was simple.
The airbag itself is removable from it's housing (the steering wheel bit). I was able to take the wrong bag out and get the right bag from a Chevy Blazer or something like that and put it into the Monte's housing.
So if anyone finds themselves in need of an airbag and the single junkyard Monte Carlo within 150 miles of you has the wrong plugs that's how I did it.
