4 monte ac issue

Default 4 monte ac issue

hello all. im new here and was hoping someone could help me. my ac is acting strange, i turn on the switch on dash and mt blower works and all else too except that the clutch on the comp wont engage. is that a relay, low 134 or what. any ideas... thanks

FYI - Moved this out of the New Member Section and into the Monte Carlo Repair Help section.

As for the clutch on the compressor not engaging, a good portion of the time, this is due to low freon levels (which would be the result of a freon leak somewhere).

IMO - Best thing to do is find a trusted shop that works with A/C systems take a look.

I agree Low Freon or bad compressor best to get it checked by a good shop

More than likely, you have a leak that has allowed the R134a to escape. The low side switch could be bad, as those are known for failing. Take it to a trusted mechanic.
