3800 top speed/ limiter removed
Holy old thread Batman!
A word to the wise, never EVER go these speeds in OD. The reason is because the 4th clutch hub and shaft are very weak from the factory, especially in cars before 2003ish. Going these speeds in OD is a very quick way of losing 4th gear (OD) so don't do it.
My 98 Monte's stock limiter was around 107ish mph. I now don't need to worry about it because of the tune for the PCM. If you don't want the speed limiter, just get a tune from someone (like ZZP) and you will be set. The reason my limiter is gone is because I will be going faster then 107mph the next time I go to the track. Hitting a limiter while at a drag strip sucks, lol.

Before I put in my Tuned PCM, mine would hit 160km/h (103 mph) in 3rd gear and 189km/h (122 mph) in OD w/limiter
... I am very glad I read this thread as I have had her past 210km/h (136 mph) in OD without limiter
... Had no idea that was bad... Thanks,
