What is the top speed Supposed to be limited at on my 04 SC Intimidator?

i thought i read somewhere it was 112mph then i was reading on the forum somthing about 107mph.

So... this is why i ask i used to own a 91 pontiac firebird and the whole car shut down at 118mph... so i thought what does this 04 Mote do when limited... so i set out for a roadtest i live in a rural part of washington state and when all the local Law Enforcement were in the local Starbucks i thought perfect time to see what shes got i got it up to about 130mph and she was just getting started...so i assume no limiter? so i wondered hey i bought this car used has it been reprogrammed....any thoughts???

 

Speed limiter is 125.

 

 

the computer may have been retuned by the previous owner, thus it wouldn't have a limiter.

 

Highly possible, as mine no longer has a speed limiter.

 

i have a 98 z34 and it shuts off around 108 fuggin sucks how can i remove this?

 

you have to remove the speed governor from the car's computer. but there isn't going to be a reputable shop that will do this as it's illegal to remove it.

 

you don't remove it, you can't do that without ruining the pcm. what you do is you actually set it at like 260 mph..... so its not removed, its just changed.

 

and how would you do this? would i need to find a dyno tuning shop to do this?

Anyways, you need either an HPTuner or a DHP Powertuner to change the top speed. You don't need a dyno to change it.
