2007 Monte Carlo SS transmission issue

Transmission
Sent it to GMC dealership. New transmission, not used or rebuild going into it. I will ask about service on it. 3yr 100,000 mile warranty and they supply car if any issues. We had it for 14 years and only put 108,000 on it. I asked my wife what she wanted to do with it, she wanted it fixed.
She likes the V8, sound of the pipes and the sunroof back.

Id be careful following their recommendations and do your own research as well.
Two thoughts there:
-Plenty of dealers upsell a trans flush as an upcharge service to boost their profits, but we know it tends to have a negative impact on these transmissions.
-If they go the other route and suggest the manual service intervals, some of the reccomendarions for trans fluid changes can be excessively long, especially if its used in a hot environment.
The downside with their warranty is given your limited yearly mileage with their 3 year cap, youre not going to drive it enough to run into the typical problem period unless the thing just had a bum part off the line. Certainly much better than no warranty, but Im just suggesting you research what others have done for maintenance that have had good trans life as the cost will be back on you by the time you get to 40-50k+ miles and back into the usual failure zone.

This is what I did as well. New transmission in a reused housing. Same warranty. I'm only 10,000 miles in after two years.... I guess I need to drive 90,000 by next summer to take full advantage......
