2004 Monte having trouble starting.
This past Friday I went to start my 2004 Monte Carlo SS Dale Jr and on the first turn of the key, the car cranked and would not start. I tried again and it started right up. The car had been sitting for about a month without being started and it almost acted like fuel pressure had bled off. I bought it a year ago and this is the first time it happened. The battery was replaced right before I bought it and it doesn't act like a battery issue.
I went to start the car today and it did the exact same thing. This was the first time I had tried starting the car since putting it up on Friday.
I did find a plastic vacuum hub that is mounted on top of the supercharger that was a little loose so I tightened it up. I replaced this earlier this year when I accidently broke it so it must have loostened up. I don't know if this would cause this issue since the car idled and ran smoothly anyway.
No CEL and the car started right up the rest of the night.
Do you guys think this is a fuel pressure problem? Are these fuel injectors problematic on these cars? The car runs and idles smoothly and I don't see any leakage from where the fuel injectors mount in the engine. Fuel cap and filter are new. Thanks for any input or ideas.

I would almost speculate a failing starter. My '84 Camaro years ago had a similiar situation, sometimes you go to start it and it didn't do anything, try again and started with no problem. I replaced the started and never had that problem again.

sounds like a starter to me too, hows the battery? the battery may not be giving enough power initially, id say put it on a charger or try to jump it and see if it does the same thing

Well, the engine is turning over so I don't think its the starter. It acts like its not getting gas. I was looking at the fuel pressure regulator and its very dirty looking. Do these go bad very often.? I need to put my fuel pressure gauge on it to see if its losing pressure. Thanks for the ideas.
