Default 03 3.8l having trouble starting

I was wondering if the gasket issues UIM & LIM can cause the car to have trouble starting? Yesterday it was about 50° outside an when I tried to start the car it made a nasty grinding noise an the car when come on an cut off. . I eventually got it started but never figured out what made it do that

Start with the easy parts first. Make sure battery is charged, that grinding noise is most likely your starter. Any check engine lights?

I highly doubt your engine will lock up because of a failing gasket. White smoke, coolant mixed with oil, over heating are some of the symptoms that are easily noticeable. The selinoid on that starter on our cars come attached to the starter it self. When ur trying to turn it on a few time do u hear a noise that sounds like a chainsaw running? If so starter is working. If not hit the starter with a hammer a few times that usually frees up the gear better on the starter so an Easier start up

.. yea when i turn the key an it starts up the way it should i hear a little chainsaw like noise.. but when it didn't want to start it was a warm day i already had the car running up to opt temp i parked it to wash it really quick then i try to start it back up a few mins later an thats when it happned.. i turned the key to turn it on an it would crank but nothin happend so i kept trying and one of the times i tried to start it up it made the loud nosie like something was grinding.. but the funny thing is I eventually got it started by just trying an trying .. its like every now an then it would feel like its having trouble again.. that day by far was the worst an that was just this past weekend
