2004 Monte Carlo SS will not start. ignition?
me and my neighbor just looked at this. He is a trained mechanic and teaches for UTI. He thinks that the best bet is to replace the ignition assembly. Looked like the ignition has been oiled and maybe the tumblers have stop catching.
is replacing the ignition a do it yourself job? It looks fairly simple. and i have my neighbor who could help me. but will this mess with the passlock system? Should a dealer mechanic handle ignition replacement.

i just read in another thread that a locksmith could maybe come out and replace the ignition on the spot? https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=17467
