I recently purchased a 2004 Monte Carlo and am enjoying it. I had heard that there may be problems with the intake manifold getting too hot and leaking coolant on the 3.8 liter motors. Is there a good way to check to see if this has been replaced before I bought it? I have found an aftermarket one to replace it if I need to. Thanks for your help.

 

A cooling system pressure test will see if your leaking any coolant...

It is common for intake manifold gaskets to start leaking on the 3.8L....
