I posted this ques on an earlier thread, but I don't think I was stating the problem properly. When it's cooler temps, I have trouble getting the button on the shifter pushed in so I can shift the car from park. After about 5-10 min, the button on the shifter will then release and I can shift the car to reverse or drive etc. When warm there are no problems.

I had this problem also a few years back on my '98. I was some sort of safty interlock mechanism hanging up on the shifter & had to be replaced. Had it fixed at the dealer. Kept getting harder to push the button to get it in gear until finally I couldn't do it at all. I you get it to move leave it in neuteral with the parking brake on. I did that for a while then finally took it in.
