The trunk locks fine. It can be unlocked with the key fine. When you hit the trunk release on the key remote you can hear the mechanism activation but the trunk does not release. With the trunk open, it looks like some sort of plunger that looks like it is up. The me it looks like it should be down and the releases upwards to open the trunk.
Has anyone have experience with this? I would like to try and repair it myself.

I have the same problem, I'll be going to Pick-n-Pull, and pick up a Lock mechanism, hopefully I can fix it myself. I'll test the solenoid and see if it energizes. check back later.

Just cause it doesnt...pop open doesnt mean it isnt...did u try just lifting the lid after you hear it trip?

 

Mine was making a grinding noise and wouldn't pop so I bought a whole new actuautor part from ebay for 16 bucks! Works great! lol
