Finally got the car back yesterday, and everything seems to be in order. Going to be driving it into the city tomorrow so wish me luck.

 

What was the problem? Usually no start + security light is A passlock issue (been there, done that).
Did you have the code for the radio to get it unlocked or did they have to use a Tech 2 on it?

 

I've been having the same problem with my 2003 Monte lately. The same lights and clicking noises that threemontes described only the funny thing about it is when the sun goes down and the air gets cooler it runs perfect. No clicking. No lights. No locked stereo.

It has now been renamed the Vampire Car.

I would really appreciate it if you would post what the dealership decided the problem was when you have a chance. Unfortunately I live in a small area where 95% of the mechanics are idiots so I'm trying to troubleshoot it with a friend of mine.

 

I have a 2003 pace car edition SS and I am having problems with the radio staying on after you open the door then I have to turn the key to acc then back to get it off. doesn't happen all the time but when it does the next morning the battery is dead something is drawing power while the key is off can someone help please?

 

Passlock issue is easy to fix. Just takes a couple resistors and a soldering iron.

 

Have you had any luck determining what the problem was? I already tried the ignition and that was an 800 dollar waste.

 

mine was the radio itself. Something to do with
the diagnostic. I had a low tire warning and when
I reset the radio the next morning the battery was
dead. I got a used one from a junk yard and
problem solved.
