Exclamation Radio Locked !

My radio is locked. I whent to Target after going to a indoor Car Show (pics coming). When I got back to my car the Radio was locked !
Now, there was,.....a 2010 Camaro parked across from me ( both away from other cars ) and it was gone when I got back. Could the remote from that car have messed up my radio ?
Do I have to take it to a dealer ?

Thanks.

FOOT NOTE : I used the search of a thread like this and a very old one turned up but it's not showing up anywhere.

from what i'm reading google ftw btw, to unlock the radio you must get the unlock sequence from a dealership, and only after proving ones ownership of said car, so looks like you will have to find a dealer but the code might be in your manual, bust it out. Should be able to access by pressing the minute button then 000 should apear.
Press the minute again to make the last two didgits to your code # then press the Hour button to make the first didgits match your code.
After you enterd you code press AM-FM and if done right SEC or something should be displayed.

oh let it be noted, if you fail 8 times, you must reset it by leaving your key in the ignition for 1 hour than it will reset your attempts.

Well, the gremlins or elves got in my car overnite and NOW the Radio is working fine. I didn't do anything to it. I may have pressed the remote wrong or something ? Curious.........

Sometimes weird stuff happens randomly.. especially in the electronic/computer world lol.

If it happens again then i would take further action..

Just an FYI, there is no unlock code for the 00-05 Radio. The Radio stores the VIN and on startup asks the BCM to match it... if it matches the radio unlocks

You could have had a BCM glitch or Class2 Databus glitch, or the Radio or BCM could be on the way out

I second what BBEngineer says!

In my travels of wanting an MP3 radio in my '04 Monte, that "Hold these buttons, get this code, call GM, input the code they give you" applies to an older radio.

If the radio is "locked" on a Monte like ours, it requires a GM Tech II scanner to unlock and re-program it.

I really wonder how much of an issue theft is on factory radios anymore.... Oh well. Glad yours came back to life. Hopefully it was a 1-time issue.
