2002 monte carlo electrical issue?
I have a 2002 monte carlo ss and i am haveing a couple of issues with it. The first problum is that when i turn the winshield wipers to the off position they stop in the middel of the winshield and will not go back down. It does not matter in what position they are in when i turn the switch off they go to the same spot. THe second issue is the highbeams will not work. If i hold the switch in they will stay on but as soon as i let it out they go off. I have did some reading and think this might be the multi-function switch. thanks for any help.

My guess is definitely with your M.F.S. Those things have a big tendency to go out on these cars. I actually think mine may be on it's way out, as well. I can't really tell you how to fix this. But, hopefully, another member will see this, and be able to help!
Good luck with getting it fixed!

Welcome to the MCF
Sorry to read about your problem...
How many miles on your Monte Carlo ?
Don't know where you are from, but if you are from a snow state, your problem is common...
I think your wiper motor needs replaced...& also your light switch
Will you try to fix it yourself ? If not I hope you have a trusted mechanic...
Check back on your thread problem to see what our expert tech member's posts on your problems..

Double posting there Space!
Burdick2011, you may want to replace your wiper arms. I had a problem with mine that when I tried to catch and bang them while driving (to get the ice off) I stretched them out and screwed up the linkage, so the right one wouldn't come up and the left one goes off the window. What you may want to try is take off the cowl screen on the windshield, and get down to the wiper motors. Remove the arms, cycle them once, then once they're at their stopping point, reinstall the arms and blades at the cradled position.
Highbeams is definitely your MFS.
Good luck,
Mike
