Default 2002 Gas Smell

2002 Monte Carlo LS 50K miles. Has anyone encountered an intermittent fuel smell immediately after starting car? The odor is really strong through the A/C Vents.

Thanks
Dallas

Could be a number of things.

Have you checked under the hood first for obvious signs of a fuel leak? Next, how is the engine running?

I looked under the hood and didn't see any leaks. No spots on the ground, etc. Also, since this post, I haven't smelled it at all.

I took the car to the dealer and they checked the fuel pressure regulator and didn't find anything. Any other ideas someone may have?

Thanks
