Has anyone else had a problem with the lighter blowing fuses. Everytime I put in a new fuse it blows immediately.

I have bought a new complete lighter and housing but am also having a problem getting the old one out.

Do I have to break down the console to replace it or can I do it without breaking down the console.

Before you do that check to see what else is on that fuse circuit. Make sure that you're puting in a fuse that is the correct amperage....Also, DOUBLE CHECK and make sure a coin didn't get down in the cigar lighter....I kept blowing fuses on my Monte and realized 3 days later that a penny had gotten in there.

 

It should be a simple twist job to get the lighter out. Otherwise go from the bottom of the console to get at it.
