Default 1999 Monte Carlo Turn signal problems

Hi

I have read some of the previous posts but this one has a new twist to it. The left turn signal will stay on all the time, not blinking, just lit up,and this is random. The left turn signal will flash and at the same time the clock info, will flash along with the turn signal,in perfect harmony. This is driving my son nuts.

Any help or direction is appreciated!

I donot know where the flasher module is,I can locate the fuse, but I donot know if these are valid places to start.

Thanks

was the radio recently replaced with an aftermarket unit? or anything else electrical replaced around the same time you started having this problem? I learned the hard way one bad ground can cause all kinds of electrical problems in areas you wouldn't expect.

Thumbs up

No But after checking a few things I noticed the front sidemarker lites out. I found the left socket all rotted out. I removed the bulb, what was left of it and the turn signal stated to work fine. I will replace it and see what happens.

Thanks for your response.

Ken

always start simple & cheap and work your way up from there. when my turn signals were effed up i started with the bulbs, then checked the fuses & relays ( underhood & on the passenger end of the dash) then tested the flasher (WAAAY up under the dash on the drivers side), and eventually wound up replacing the multifunction swich in the steering colum with a new one, 'caus the old one was the root of the problem. it not only messed with the turn signals but i would also loose my brakelights, because they are both wired through the swich.
