Default 1999 Carlo engine ticking noise

My engine is making a ticking noise when I start it up. It goes away after about five minutes or so of driving, or becomes so faint i can't hear it. I looked it up and three things it could be was either low oil, something with valve/lifter, or a "piston slap" i think w/e that is. I already put oil in it, so it's got plenty oil, still making that noise tho. It makes a dripping sound (which now im guessing is still the clicking noise, but very slow paced) after i turned the car off too. Any idea what this is? I heard if it's something with my pistons, then my engine is pretty much trashed.

Very common with 3100 motors. No huge concern. Mine had that issue from 120k miles to 170k when I swapped the motor with no problems.

If you have a 3800 though, that's a different story.
