I have a 1995 monte carlo ls 3.1 and the temp runs up to 225 in traffic and the # 2 cooling fan won't come on at all. It doesn't start to run hot untill after the #1 fan turns off at some point for unknown reason. I have recently replaced the temp. switch. and there are no codes set at all. can anyone tell me what controls the #2 fan. I have hot wired it and the fan works and it will then bring the temp. down. some one please help!!!

No the fan won't come on no matter what. Unless I hot wire it

I would check the relay for the fan thats not coming on.

 

I switched the relays and it didn't change anything. The #2 cooling fan still won't come on. The fuse is good and everything else was just replaced with the lower intake manflid set hoses and all. Temp. sender, tstat w/pump. This actually just started after the 2 heater core hoses were replaced on tuesday. Its been bled proberly all is good. I just can't get the #2 fan on all of a sudden.

 

Can anyone tell me what controls the #2 Fan so I can check the system and see where the problem is. Thank you

 

I had poblem with my number two fan not coming on so ijust replaced it and it was good .....i dont know how your fan works but maybe some how they are hook in series and one works off the other one and for some reason the power is not getting over to the second fan .....im dont have same motor ....also can you wire it from the other fan maybe???
