Default 06 Ls lost keys ....advice ???

So I lost my keys in the woods somewhere in a 7 mile stretch... how difficult would it be to just order a new key off the vin for my car ? I live in Alaska and there is no chevy dealer for 250+ miles...

Question

You can call that GM dealer and give them the Vin Number and see what they will be able to do for you. If your car has on star they can verify its location. Good Luck!

It's a tough call without proof of ownership in front of a GM person. I would start by calling and seeing the steps you could take.

Do you called any auto locksmith for help? May be they can help you in this matter.

There are a handful of sites I've ordered used fobs from, but you have to be really careful that whoever you're buying from really understands the parts because there will be different FCC IDs and chipsets within the same Model/Year depending on trim options and which factory your VIN came out of. Once you figure out what your FCC ID is, you should be able to find a used fob at waaay less than dealer prices, just know that you'll still have to have a locksmith program the fob to your specific vehicle.

You can also hire an auto locksmith expert to make a new key by providing them the VIN number of the lock.

Home depot is also a good way to get a key copy instead of a locksmith.
