7th Gen ('06-'07): Monte Carlo PRND LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN CAR IS SHUT OFF

Default Monte Carlo PRND LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN CAR IS SHUT OFF

My 2007 LS MONTE CARLO keeps dying everytime it’s sits for a couple of hours when I turn it off the only light that stays on when I turn my car off is my dash but it’s not my entire dash it’s the PRND light and I am not sure where to start PLEASE HELP !!

Electrical gremlins were the bane of my Monte. See if pulling the RAP fuse makes any difference. RAP or retained accessory power is the circuit that powers things with the key out of the ignition.

Fuse is in the passenger side kick panel fuse block.

Hey thanks for the help I pulled the RAP fuse that and it’s still not turning off

OK. On to more troubleshooting. Check the relays in the fuse box under the hood. Pull one out, check your dash. See if one is stuck or bad. Do the same for all relays.
Then I'd move on to fuses. Pull one at a time and see if that shuts off the lights. Won't fix the issue but it might pinpoint the circuit.

After that, I'm out of ideas. Light switch maybe?

Just the P R N D 3 2 1 and not the Odometer/Compass/temp/other DIC display? Old picture for reference.
