6th Gen ('00-'05): 04 water dripping from console above rear view mirror
hi, new member here. Just bought this 04 SS from a neighbor who told us the moonroof leaked and several years ago he had a mechanic disconnect the power to control it from opening. Got a great deal on the car, so I didn't want to argue the point with him. It poured today and sure enough, there was water dripping from the DIC, which by the way does not show any info when the car is running. I attached a photo. The driver and passenger side carpets were wet as well. I called the garage where he had the issue checked and they didn't remember the car or have any idea where the power disconnect might be. I checked the DIC fuse and it’s ok and peaked in through the headliner but there was nothing obvious. I want to reconnect the power to see if the drain tubes are clogged or if the leak is someplace else. Could the garage have pulled the power to the DIC which would control the roof?. Thx!

I'd wager the the drain tubes are clogged. There is 1 on each corner. I had the same issue one day 2-3 years ago and every time it rained. I put some wire down there to punch through the clog, then added a 10% bleach solution down the tubes to break down any mold, and gunk in there, then flushed with water. be sure to check the drains on the doors as the clog too, especially after unclogging your drain tubes.
Since I did that I have had no leaks.
