2014 GM Nationals - Carlisle, PA
Did the over the phone registration for the Nats this past Monday, so thats locked in. Yeah!
Been online looking at hotel rooms, some online reviews are less than flattering. Are the people just being picky? I stayed at a Day's Inn for almost 8 months while working out of town, it was not the worlds best by any means and it worked out okay for me. A hot tub and rum and coke made everything just right. Has anyone stayed at the Howard Johnson before? Seems close and priced right. The reviews make it seem like your staying in a really seedy place. Could just be the people were not used to staying at a less than 3 star place for a couple of days.

People are just that picky.
It's not a major city, it's a small town. The amenities aren't "amazing" but it's not awful.
Jason and I chose the Howard Johnson because they have cams. If you can get there, or the Quality Inn, you'll be with people you know

Actually, a correction to Chibi's post:
HoJo does not have cams. After my hit-n-run incident at the "Hotel Carlisle", I called a bunch of hotels in the location. If I recall, all but two did NOT have cams. The new Holiday Inn has cams and at least one of the two Country Inns and Suites in the area do. But get your wallet out (one of the places was double the cost).
Sadly, I decided against the cams due to cost. HoJo is a name place, and I've stayed at a few. Most chains want a good rep. Plus, they had a breakfast and a pool (I don't think it was an indoor pool, but ultimately, we were not there for the pool).
Because my wife loves Mustangs, we're taking her '01 this weekend to the Ford Nats and staying at this HoJo for the first time (so I'll have some feedback soon).

Greg, the reviews aren't spectacular for many of the hotels really lol. Imo, only thing going for the quality inn is location. Otherwise its just ok.
So who is on the committed list so far? I'm registered, only thing that would stop me now is a severe storm front, that I would not want to be driving in for days. Hail would ruin my day...

The list in Post #1 should be the committed list.
Awesome! Think i saw you on the NYMCC site as well, Will see you there!
er, the Quality inn which we stay in, isn't the best hotel really. It's good enough for the day or two we stay in, most likely because we stay out til 1-2am and leave 7-8am so we arent in it long! lol the location is great that's what makes it nice. Glad you are going man! can't wait to see your ride!
