Apparently they're available at a local craft store but I've had no luck at any of them. Michael's, JoAnns, nothing. I can't find transparent colored ones online. Anyone know where I'm supposed to get it?

Personally, I think you would be best converting the lighting to colored LEDs. It probably takes more work to do, but in the end, the color will shine true.

My experience is paint or other materials to cover the bulb and allow a different color shine through eventually wear down (as the bulbs do give off heat and cause the color to degrade).

Yeah, but it's quite a lot of work to solder in resistors and the LEDs. I've heard styrene works really well from folks here. Especially since I have the instrument panel with 6 gauges... it would take a long time lol

So i just installed those USSpeedo leds in my cluster, the instructions were for the wrong vehicle but i guess and got it working. The color is beautiful but kind of dim, but it's probably because my ABS, TRAC OFF, and CEL are on and incandescent, seems to be drowning them out. The ZZP voltage booster seems to be helping a bit though.

I Got some from michael's but it was the plastic used for stencils. My cluster looks pretty good! It has a nice blue look to it.

Did these have to be soldered in?

Yessir, I've never soldered anything before in my life, but i managed to get em in without too much trouble. Only problems i ran into was having to switch the LEDs around since the polarity of the board isnt marked, and the light for the temp gauge had some of the glue around it and was a bit difficult to solder.

For the price its most likely a waste of money. It's just 9 cheap LEDs and vague instructions for a different vehicle. I'm trying to find soem good brighter LEDs to replace em with right now.
