Default wanting to go back to factory deck

I just purchased a 2000 3.4 monte there is an aftermarket deck in it that loses all settings as soon as the car turns off and no door chimes so I am assuming someone just hard wired it in. I am thinking of getting a stock cd player and putting it back in to get the capabilities of the chimes and resets the factory radio offers. From what I have read on this site I want a 04-05 cavalier radio with mp3 capabilities. Question is how much of a pita will this be and is there anything I should know before getting started? thanks

It'll be direct plug and play, to get the dash off check out my youtube channel in my signature, I have a video on it, id post but I'm on my phone lol.

Also you will need to go to a dealership or know someone with a tech II to unlock the headunit from the previous car.

Make sure to get the headunit from a car not truck because the truck ones won't work in our cars
